YOUTH PROGRAMS
enFamilia currently offers the following 6 Youth Programs throughout the year.
enFAMiLIA PATH TO SUCCESS (EP2S)
Path to Success is a mentorship program where the goal is to have 100% of the students graduate high school. Students and families are referred to academic, spark, enrichment and parenting programming to improve childβs academics and behavior. This is done by empowering the youth to take responsibility for their education and providing encouragement and guidance to all children. EP2S now also offers DLI for frustrational readers to help them improve their literacy skills. Path to Success is not just a program, it is a journey.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT & SPORTS PROGRAM
Youth Development and Sports Program is enFAMILIAβs Sports/Mentoring Program and was established to serve our communityβs youth. At enFAMILIA, we understand how important it is for our youth to establish social bonds with peers and adults who are willing to assist them in overcoming adversity and guide them towards a successful future. Our coaches are trained to create a safe and pleasant environment, to coach trauma-sensitive youth.
enFAMiLIA PATH TO SUCCESS (ARTS)
The Out-of-School Program that exposes students to various art forms, including drama, dance, music, and visual arts. This program brings art education to students who are often deprived of it because of budget cuts in public schools.
GROUP LEADERS
The Group Leaders (GL) Program is designed for local high school students that participated in the AIA (Art-In-Action) summer camp in an effort to facilitate community dialogue. The Group Leaders aim to establish themselves as active and productive participants of the community by helping enFAMILIA through events such as parades, Baynanza beach cleanup, food drives, toy drives, and more. Their efforts are directly related to the AIA Summer Camp as they often work on developing activities and planning events for the campers, as well as being teachers assistants for the focus classes.The Group Leader program holds a strong emphasis on the arts as a way of expressing ideas and oneself.
Life Skills
A class for the students focusing on promoting gang prevention and the prevention of substance abuse and self-defeating behaviors for youth and parents in schools. This class is given annually during the Art-In-Action summer camp.
ART-IN-ACTION (AIA)
enFAMILIAβs AIA Summer Camp is a program that targets disadvantaged youth of the local community, offering them an extraordinary art experience. The summer camp is designed as a four week program that fosters the studentsβ talents in the areas of visual arts, music, dance, film, drama, and culinary arts. Yoga, relaxation techniques, nonviolence practices, and college prep are also part of the experience.
